Filmed aboard full sized paddle wheel steamer on the James River and at City
Point, (Richmond) Virginia. Written by Ernest Kinoy (he also wrote
ROOTS). Rob Thomas was a nice fellow and he directed the film. You
may remember him from other shows and movies such as the TV show
"Monk.: He also directed a number of other episodes and shows like
Fame, Northern Exposure, the Wonder Years, Fantasy Island, L.A. Law, Greatest
American Hero, Hill Street Blues, Dynasty and Magnum P.I. Additional
coverage was also run in TV Guide and People magazine.

Frederick and Washington County Public School systems, MD (USA) and in the
rebuilding and fund raising assistance of three Frederick County covered
bridges, Frederick, MD (USA). As the single, only unit chosen, to
represent the American Civil War Naval and Marine reenacting community in noted
author Al Thelin's book on the Civil War.
Appointed Official Coordinator for the country of America in it's representation of the US Navy and America to Japan (appointed by both governments) for the Commodore Perry Festival and parade (JAPAN) and as guest speaker/presenter to NATO (BELGIUM). Gratitude is expressed to Mr. Yasuyuki Okamoto, Mr. Rick Harlow, Mr. Andy King, Captain and Mrs. D' D' Alessio and Mr. James Mathews - who went above and beyond the call of duty in support over numerous years.
CWSMMA - physically onboard the tall ships of the world via
global travel and the premier creator/host to the Annual Ships Battle and
Seafarers Festival of Wildwood Crest,
NJ, USA with USS Yankee, USS Jashes, full
sized paddle wheel steamboat Delta Lady courtesy of supporter and
Captain Bill Henfey, hand built motor launch and other minor sized boats, ships and sailing vessels.
Always conducted and coordinated, on the water,
with the United States Coast Guard and USCG certified and licensed Captains
Franchetta and Schumann. Events conducted are
safety regulated via instructions, guidelines and inspection officers while
being fully insured under three policies for
several million dollars. Donations of time and money have been made to
African-American education events, Hispanic-American education events, the Wildwood
Crest Historical Society and Navy and Marine Corps Relief Fund.
Many African American events were had in Yokohama and
Yokosuka, Japan.

The association impetus has come from Mongiello family financial support and particularly

1996 and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal from the Secretary of the Navy,
United States of America, in 2000.
Mr. Mongiello's - written works on Civil War cookery and
Naval Warfare have been published or aired worldwide and in numerous
languages. These have included the Camp Chase
Gazette (September, 1995 - after "McDougal At Shimonoseki" - "The
Ironclads: Reenacting A Real Civil War Navy Enlisted Impression." Also, as
seen on NHK TV in Asia, TV Brussels and Vitaya in Europe, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, and
numerous other magazines, periodicals and newspapers around the globe.
