Our combined purpose is to provide for a collegiate nature
gathering and promulgation of white papers and family interest items.
Please link back to us from your websites.
These items primarily deal with genealogy, university
level studies and written and published works of an educational nature.
The provision of a creative outlet and sharing of these works gives great
advancement to Mongiello's and to our role in society.
We have particular interest in elevation from peasant
arrival, in America, to becoming contributing and educated members of the United
States. Never forgetting our heritage of Italy and all things Italian, we
seek to advance knowledgeable works, herein, to the greater world as
well.
To hold everything you own in the tramp suitcase by your
side and attempt to live in a new country is not an easy task to burden.
You and your wife and child, go up onto the large ship for months at sea.
Forced to learn an entirely new language, to survive. Unable to own
property and made to live in ghetto's. Can you work selling fruit off of
carts or carry blocks of ice up on your back to waiting
"refrigerators" (as Michael C. Mongiello, Sr. did)?
Assuming you can tolerate these crosses to bear, possibly
your children would be able to attend school but few, second generation could
make it to college. Third Generation Mongiello's in America saw greater
chances, at attending Catholic grade and high schools, while some more made it
to college. Now then, in the Spring of our venture, to the United States,
we see a vast percentage of fourth generation Mongiello's able to participate in
high level studies. Mongiello's are desirous of continuing to educate
themselves and to contribute to America and the world. We hope that some
of the works enclosed, assist you or provide interesting reading.
